Company Overview
Founded in 1991 by Francois Raab, InfoSizing is a consulting
firm specializing in accurate sizing of information systems through
the design, management and analysis of performance benchmarks.
Originally operating under the name Information Paradigm, the
company became InfoSizing in 1999 to better reflect
the focus of its core business.
How We Started
The company was started at a time when benchmark standards were
in their infancy. New benchmarks were being drafted and there
was a need for an independent party to help in the design and
verification of these benchmarks. Back in August of 1992, when
the first version of TPC-C was released, InfoSizing was already
part the standardization effort.
What We Do
InfoSizing provides consulting services in two main areas: standard
TPC benchmarks and custom benchmarks. In both cases, InfoSizing
applies its expertise to the task of accurately assessing the
computing capacity, or size, of a given information system configuration.
In the case of standard TPC benchmarks, the service consists in
providing an independent audit of the results obtained by a system
vendor during the execution of a standard performance benchmark,
such as TPC-C, TPC-App or TPC-H.
In the case of custom benchmarks, the service consists in defining
and executing a performance benchmark for the purpose of accessing
a given technology. This approach is most effective when applied
during the process of a new system procurement or a strategic
technology selection.
Who Are Our Customers
InfoSizing delivers benchmark auditing services to most leading
enterprise system vendors. The Transaction Procession Performance
Council, also retains our services to contribute to the design
and standardization of its TPC benchmarks. Large information technology
users call on InfoSizing to tailor a performance benchmark to
their specific technology assessment needs and to validate its
execution.
